Nineteen players fill four courts with three sitting, and nineteen rounds balance it out: sixteen games and three byes each, spaced six rounds apart so nobody sits twice in a row. Each player partners sixteen of the other eighteen with no pairing repeated, and meets every other player once or twice. Print the chart for the gate or save it as a PDF, or type your nineteen names into the free DillDraw round robin generator and let it track the byes as you go.

Nineteen: one player short of five courts
Nineteen people make 171 possible pairs. Four courts produce eight partnerships a round, so nineteen rounds offer 152 slots — nineteen short. The shortfall is shared out exactly: every player partners sixteen of the other eighteen, and nobody is short a third.
Three sitting out of nineteen is close to a sixth of the room off court at any moment, so the bye rotation carries most of the weight here. Each player sits three times, six rounds apart, so nobody is benched twice running and the rest comes round on a rhythm people can plan a drink or a stretch around.
Opponent coverage is complete and tight: every pair of players faces each other, once or twice and never more, wherever you stop in the chart.
Nineteen rounds is a long night. Since no partnership repeats, the sheet shortens gracefully — stop after ten or twelve rounds and every player is within one game of everyone else, with that many different partners behind them.
Nineteen is the awkward number right before the courts fill. One more player and the 20-player chart takes over with five courts and nobody sitting at all; one fewer and the 18-player chart puts two on the bench instead of three.
